Ernest was in the first graduating class of Riverside High School 1964 where he was the captain of the basketball team Riverside Trojans. He went on to obtain a B.S. degree in 1970 from the University of Arkansas, Pine Bluff, a master’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1975 and pursued his doctorate degree at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
Ernest was a dedicated teacher and coach with the Hamilton County school system, Chattanooga, TN. He was a member of Stanley United Methodist Church.

As we, the class of 1966, celebrate our 40th reunion, our love, prayers and sympathy go out to Terry's family. We say goodbye to our fellow classmate for now; but we will see her again. The Trojans will reunite on the other side.
Paul passed away from an extended illness after receiving his initial treatments in Atlanta and subsequent treatments in Philadelphia.
Paul was on the basketball team.

Cassandra “Sandy” Faye Burgans Henry died on Friday, March 16, 2007, at Erlanger hospital.
Sandy was a member of New Zion Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry Ressie Harris, Ervin and Georgia Burgans; her son, William Joseph Henry; mother, Pauline C. Burgans; and sisters, Sharon McAfee, Shelia McQuinn and Dariel Corbin.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Willie Joe Henry; daughters, Karyn Stewart and Polly Henry; sisters, Ernestine Herring, of Atlanta, and Brandy Burgans, of Chattanooga; and devoted best friends, Geraldine Mays, Hollis Jacoway and Frosty Alexander.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Thursday at New Zion Baptist Church. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12-9 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements are by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Directors.
